April 28, 2025, was a day of great honor for Hainan Yisheng Petrochemical Co., Ltd. Gu Changqing, a welder and maintenance team leader, and Sun Dan, the company’s labor union chairperson—recognized respectively as a 2025 National Model Worker and a recipient of the National Labor Union System Model Worker award—traveled to Beijing to attend a grand ceremony at the Great Hall of the People. The event commemorated the 100th anniversary of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and honored outstanding national model workers and advanced workers.
On that day, the Great Hall of the People was filled with a solemn yet vibrant atmosphere, as Party and state leaders gathered alongside elite representatives from across the country and various industries. General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the event and delivered an important speech, in which he highly praised the glorious journey and great achievements of the Chinese labor movement under the leadership of the Communist Party over the past century. He fully affirmed the significant contributions made by national model workers and advanced workers, and expressed earnest expectations for the working class and the broader laboring masses in the new era.
Gu Changqing, a welder and maintenance team leader, has spent many years working on the front lines. Through his exceptional technical skills and extensive experience, he has repeatedly overcome complex equipment maintenance challenges, ensuring the smooth operation of production. His actions embody the "craftsman spirit." Being named a 2025 National Model Worker serves as an inspiration for him to continue making significant contributions, cementing his role as a pillar of the company’s technical team.
Sun Dan, in her capacity as the company’s labor union chairperson, has long been dedicated to safeguarding the rights and interests of employees and fostering team cohesion. She has built a robust bridge for communication between the staff and the company, and has actively organized various skills training programs and cultural and sports activities, creating an environment conducive to the professional growth and success of the workforce. She is truly regarded by employees as a trusted advocate and a supportive "family member." Her recognition as a National Labor Union System Model Worker in 2023 stands as a fitting tribute to her years of steadfast dedication and selfless service.
Additionally, on April 27, a commendation conference for advanced collectives, model workers, and advanced workers within the national industrial and information technology system was held in Beijing, where our colleague Zhao Xinguo was honored as a National Model Worker for the industrial and information technology sector.
Taking this recognition as an opportunity, the company will vigorously promote the spirit of model workers, the spirit of labor, and the spirit of craftsmanship.
